Don't let the swine flu
land on you!
No doubt you have been hearing about the swine flu. Don't be scared. Be PREPARED!
Starting in mid-October you will probably be able to get a vaccine at school for prevention. Schools everywhere all over the country will give the vaccines. That is how important prevention is. Everyone wants to make sure that tweens are among the first to get the shots.
Here's what you can do to prevent it.

"Mr. Soap."
Until you get your shots, it is important to be way, super extra cautious about spreading germs. You probably know the drill on the first tip - but don't forget about it or take it for granted!

So you've got to avoid letting germs make contact. Try to avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. I know that's hard. But hey - germs play hard. And we don't want them to win!
If you have to cough or sneeze - be a team player. Don't pass germs on to other tweens. You may be used to coughing or sneezing in your hands. Bad move.
Okay tween team - Don't let the swine flu germ score a touchdown and land on you!
Don't drink from the same cup, trade or share sandwiches, forks or eating utensils. That's another super sneaky move germs use to make contact.
Wash your swine flu worries away!
Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Did we say - wash your hands? No joke! Have you ever seen germs under a microscope? If not, you would be totally blown away!
So before you eat anything - wash. When you leave the lunch room - wash. After you play sports, exercise and come indoors - really wash. When you get home after riding on the bus, on your bike or in a car - most definitely WASH. And not just a quick splish-splash under the water. Count to 20 or sing "Happy Birthday" two times.
Mr. Soap will act as your personal body guard to fight and combat germs from attacking you!
Germs play real dirty at contact sports. And they play the game to win.
That won't help win the swine flu game.
If you don't have a tissue - do a defensive block move, and cough or sneeze into the bend of your arm or elbow - even if that means doing it on your shirt or blouse.
Be safe. Not sorry.

How many shots you have to get will depend on whether this is your first time getting flu shots, and that shots are available in your area. Check with us often for more updates!
